The problem with team training
Most parents looking into private football coaching in Dubai start from the same observation. A typical academy or school session has one coach and twenty players. Divide the session time by twenty and work out how many seconds of individual attention each player actually receives. Then count how many touches of the ball a player gets when they spend half the session queuing for a drill.
Team training teaches you to play in a team, which matters. What it cannot do is fix your weaker foot, rebuild a first touch that lets you down under pressure, or explain why you keep getting caught in possession — because those need someone watching only you.
That is what a private session is for. It is not a replacement for playing with a team; it is the thing that makes team sessions more useful, because you arrive with the gaps already closed.
Who is private coaching for?
By far the most common. Usually already playing at school or a club, wanting extra work on the basics.
Where a few months of focused technical work makes a visible difference, and where knowing what selectors look for matters.
Often a technical ceiling rather than a talent ceiling, and one that can be raised with the right attention.
Plenty of clients are professionals in their thirties and forties playing weekly games who want to stop being the weak link.
Adults who have moved to Dubai and want to join the games their colleagues play in, without embarrassing themselves in the first one.
Who are the sessions built for?
Coaching a nine-year-old and coaching an adult returning to the game are different jobs. Sessions are built accordingly.
Ball mastery, both feet, dribbling and confidence in possession. Kept enjoyable above all, because a child who stops enjoying football stops playing football. No early specialisation and no adult training methods.
Technical refinement under pressure, positional understanding, and physical preparation for a body that is still growing. For players targeting academy trials, sessions work backwards from what selectors actually assess.
Whatever is holding your game back — a weak second foot, first touch, or simply the fitness to last ninety minutes. Beginners welcome, and nobody is watching.
What happens in a session?
A session runs 45 to 60 minutes and starts with a ball at your feet rather than a lap of the pitch. Warm-up is done with the ball, because time spent without one is time not spent improving. The bulk of the session is technical work on whatever the assessment identified, progressed into pressure — a skill that works unopposed but collapses against a defender has not been learned yet. Sessions usually end with a conditioning element built around football movements rather than generic running.
Your coach brings balls, cones and everything else needed. Sessions run at a public pitch, a park or an open space near you, and outdoor timing shifts to early morning or evening through the hotter months.

How quickly do players improve?
Technical work shows fastest in children, who pick up movement patterns quickly and without overthinking them. A weaker foot that is barely usable can become reliable in a couple of months of consistent work at that age.
Adults take longer to change habits but understand instruction better, which evens out. Where adults improve fastest is decision-making and fitness — knowing where to be a second earlier makes more difference to a Sunday game than any skill move.
What does not change quickly for anyone is composure under pressure. That comes from repetition in match-like conditions, which is why sessions progress into opposed work rather than staying on cones. Youth competition in Dubai is genuinely competitive — the Equiti Youth Football League runs weekly fixtures from under-7 to under-16, with more than 500 of its players going on to professional clubs, elite academies and college scholarships. Scouts attend.

Frequently asked questions
Around six for structured sessions. Younger than that, the useful thing is play rather than coaching, and a formal session tends to be wasted on them.
Yes. Balls, cones, bibs and portable goals where needed. The player brings boots and shin pads.
Yes, and for some players it works better — a little competition sharpens the session. Mention it when you book.
Ask when you get in touch. Goalkeeping is a specialism and availability depends on which coaches are free in your area.
Of course, and women's football in the UAE has grown considerably. Female coaches can be requested.
Coaching improves a player, and a better player has a better chance. Nobody can promise a trial outcome, and be sceptical of anyone who does.
No, alongside it. Private sessions build the individual skills; playing for a team is where they get used. Players who do only one of the two develop unevenly.
